Is Israel conducting ethnic cleansing? Or even following the Fascist model of the 1930th? Those are some off the questions many ask throughout the blogosphere. This not only by those of Islamic or Christian faith, even some strong Jewish advocates are now coming to the forefront after Israel’s latest wave of annexations and crack downs on demonstrators that the Israeli police put down, arresting Israeli peace activist, Pro-Palestinian foreigners as well as Palestinian peace activist and demonstrators.
This latest demonstration is the largest Israeli-Palestinian demonstration lead by all three-faith groups against the Israeli politics of expropriation and annexation of Palestinian homes and land.
The Israeli police had done their best to forbade this latest demonstration, however, the supreme court ruled in an appeal that it was allowed to take place, still being meet by the largest Israeli police contingent that has ever watched over any demonstration according to AFP.
Slogans could be heard such as “No to ethnic cleansing” …
The peace movement did also point out some of the UN resolutions that Israel defies to this day, such as that Palestinian Refugees have the right to return to their homes in Israel.
General Assembly Resolution 194, Dec. 11, 1948, Israel's occupation of Palestine is Illegal.
Security Council Resolution 242, Nov. 22, 1967, Israel's settlements in Palestine are Illegal.
Security Council Resolution 446, March 22, 1979, or Palestinian have the right to Self-Determination.
General Assembly Resolution 3236, November 22, 1974.
Dr. Norman Finkelstein, stated that it is a paradox that the best thing that ever happened to Germany was Nazism and its defeat leading it to one of the most moraly decent societies in existence today... it is also the worth thing that ever happened to its victims... Where as Israel seems to be in total denial and those supporting Israel curent politics today are supporting its distruction...
The question remaining on most minds in the Middle-East today may be whether or not a peaceful solution is still feasible, especially in light of the current politics conducted by the Israeli government, which seems to prevail and remain unchanged in spite of countless UN resolutions condemning it.
